In order to serve 32 villages with a combined population of more than 50,000 people in the Tobu Block in the Mon District of Nagaland, a medical facility was necessary.

It is insufficient to address the community’s health needs with only five Public Health Centers (PHC), four sub-centers, and four health and wellness centers. Even from the Tobu corporate offices, the closest reference medical facility is 120 kilometers away.

The community members’ ability to access public health services on time has been hampered by distance and poor road connectivity. At Tobu Block in Nagaland’s Mon District, there is a 30-Bed Modular Medical Facility.

As an addition to the current community health center, United Way of Bengaluru and CSR partner ThermoFisher built up a 30-bed modular facility, type C ambulance, dental, and pediatric medical equipment after seeing the need to boost the neighborhood’s health infrastructure.

Modern medical technology has been included in this modular structure for the benefit of both patients and the medical community. Modulus Housing, a start-up from IIT Madras, created the 30-bed modular facility.

These devices have a lengthy lifespan of at least 20 years. Today, Shri. Thavaseelan K, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Mon and Shri. N. Bongkhao Konyak, Honble Advisor, Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), Government of Nagaland, officially opened the new 30-bed facility.

“We are extremely grateful to Thermofisher and United Way of Bengaluru for building the 30-bed modular hospital as well as for contributing an ambulance and other cutting-edge medical supplies.

It will significantly improve the provision of healthcare services for years to come in the subdivisions of Tobu and Monyakshu “said Deputy Commissioner Mon. Thavaseelan K, IAS.

“We are happy to have contributed to this crucial action. We learned during the pandemic that public healthcare services, which provide care to a significant portion of our population, especially those in low-income areas, needed to be strengthened.

Thermo Fisher’s sponsorship of this effort has been greatly appreciated by United Way of Bengaluru “the United Way Bengaluru executive director Rajesh Krishnan.

“We are happy to announce the opening of the new 30-bed modular facility in Nagaland’s Tobu Block of the Mon District. We are happy that the new facility will benefit close to 50,000 people in this region and close to 32 villages.

Thermo Fisher is leading the way in serving science with the appropriate compassion and adhering to our objective, which is to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer, through initiatives like these “said Amit Chopra, ThermoFisher Scientific’s managing director for India and South Asia.

With regards to Thermo Fisher Scientific , with an estimated $40 billion in yearly revenue, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO) is the market leader in providing services to the scientific community.

Our goal is to empower people to improve the safety, health, and environment of the planet.

The chapter serves as a catalyst for coordinated initiatives from businesses, civic organizations, and citizen associations to effect noticeable change. Environment, Education, Healthcare, and Livelihood are the organization’s four main focus areas.

At the moment, UWBe is carrying out three flagship initiatives that have significant goals: “Wake the Lake” works to conserve Bengaluru’s lakes, “Born Learning” aids in giving very young children nutrition and education, and “Rural Rising” attempts to strengthen and empower rural communities.

Additionally, the group supports healthcare facilities, medical personnel, and other organizations engaged in COVID relief operations in another crucial area.
